Morgan County Preparedness Project

PREPAREDNESS PROJECT KICK-OFF MEETING
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, we kicked off a new project to help the residents of Morgan County build the capabilities necessary to become more resilient and to persevere through difficult times. We shared our plans for developing a community network and providing free monthly training, followed by a how-to session for creating a plan to communicate with your family and friends in a crisis or disaster.
HOW IT STARTED
In November, 2024 the Morgan County Emergency Communications Network conducted a free workshop that encouraged, informed and equipped citizens of Morgan County to be prepared in the event of a loss of basic support services.
WHAT WE LEARNED
- What we should be planning for
- What resources we need to prepare and how to get them
- How to communicate if cell service and/or the internet is down
