Off-Grid Emergency Communication Workshop

This free workshop offers hands-on exercises using handheld two-way radios for reliable backup communication during emergencies as well as how to use directed nets to keep a neighborhood or a group of friends and family in touch when normal systems fail.
- Onsite technical staff can update your radio with the latest local frequency channel list.
- Please bring any GMRS-capable radio to participate in seminar exercises.
- We can update your Baofeng UV-5R radios (including those distributed at previous seminars).
- Other radios may be supported, if we have a matching programming cable or you provide one.
- Pre-programmed Baofeng UV-5R radios will be available for purchase for $30 (cash only).
- Radios come loaded with local emergency and GMRS channels for immediate use.
- You are responsible for obtaining the appropriate FCC GMRS License to legally operate on GMRS frequencies.
